We are seeking submissions from a broad spectrum of practitioners and are open to Queensland based artists working in movement, dance, theater, drag, sound, hybrid ways of making and beyond.

Q&A Information Session will be held on Saturday 14 March 2026 at 11:00am. RSVP HERE

Applications close 11:59pm Sunday 22 March 2026.

About the Opportunity

Outer Space and Performance Space invite practitioners from Queensland-based artists working in movement, dance, theater, drag, sound and hybrid ways of making for an experimental performance art residency. The residency period will be split in two with an initial 5 day intensive hosted in Gadigal/Sydney, followed by a longer 10 day residency period held in Magandjin/Brisbane. This residency will support the development of new work and include professional mentorship, feedback sessions, showing opportunities, and access to a national network of artists and audiences.

The structure of the program will be organised by Outer Space & Performance Space in collaboration with the selected artist. This is a process led residency and although the development of new work is supported, a finished output is not required.

First Nations, people of colour, regional, queer, and gender diverse artists are strongly encouraged to apply. Please note that undergraduate students are not eligible for this program.
