Drawing inspiration from the frescoes of the Palazzo Schifanoia “a palace of not being bored” explores our relationship with mortality and how aesthetic practices link and blur the boundaries of time, place, biography, and the poetic ways in which these subjects overlap.

ARTIST

Col Mac is an interdisciplinary artist working with a focus on painting. His current work investigates the ways in which aesthetic practices link and blur the boundaries of time, place, biography, history and the poetic ways in which these subjects overlap. 

His work has appeared in the Washington Post, New York Times, FT, NBC, Vice and more. He has been a finalist in Evelyn Chapman award, The Brisbane Portrait prize, Swell, the North Sydney art Prize, longlisted for the Herbert Smith Freehills portrait award and shortlisted for four AOI world illustration awards. 

In 2023 he completed his BFA at QCA.
